Jean Paul Gulino’s gelato was an instant sensation when he opened up his doors in Downtown Half Moon Bay on 2019, and people still can’t get enough. Every batch is made from scratch.

Jean-Paul’s story begins in the picturesque city of Nice, France, where he grew up cherishing the monthly family trips to Italy. These excursions were not just about the journey, but also about the delightful plate of pasta followed by the hunt for the perfect gelato treat. It was this combination of adventure, anticipation, and family bonding that made these gelato experiences so special. These trips significantly shaped Jean-Paul’s taste and appreciation for quality gelato.

Longing for the authentic gelato he had grown to love, Jean-Paul embarked on a culinary adventure to Bologna, Italy, where he studied at a school specializing in Gelato. His passion for the craft deepened as he also trained with a French pastry chef. Back in his kitchen, Jean-Paul dedicated years to perfecting his gelato-making skills.

Finally, taking a leap of faith, Jean-Paul decided to share his passion with others by opening his own Gelateria. His journey from a child enjoying gelato in Italy to becoming a gelato artisan himself is a testament to his dedication to the craft. Now, Jean-Paul is grateful for the opportunity to become a part of others’ family excursions and memories, just as his family trips became a cornerstone of his own life.
