It's Pumpkin Season in Half Moon Bay

Fall is one of our favorite times of year on the Half Moon Bay Coastside, and we’re so excited to share the season with you.

While the annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival won’t be held this October, much of that same Autumn magic is still here waiting for you, so come to the Coastside and enjoy it at your own pace this year. Read on for more about all the pumpkin themed fun that’s happening this Fall!

HALF MOON BAY PUMPKIN PATCH GUIDE

Each year, the Half Moon Bay Coastside is transformed into an autumn wonderland oozing with fall goodness. During the season, the pastoral coast is blanketed in pumpkin patches that would make the Peanuts gang proud, teeming with orange gourds, hayrides, and spooky haunted houses.  Explore more pumpkin patches

PUMPKIN INDULGENCE

Pumpkin Getaway
The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is offering a “Pumpkin Indulgence” experience to celebrate the great gourd. This package includes overnight accommodations, a signature Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Facial (80 minutes) with a nourishing and hydrating pumpkin enzyme masque, pumpkin macarons, and a glass pumpkin keepsake. Available from October 1-31, 2021. Rates start at $1,150 per night (includes resort fee and overnight valet parking).

Pumpkin Candy!
Step back in time and indulge in a piece of Americana at Small Town Sweets. This fall season enjoy a wide selection of pumpkin treats including homemade pumpkin pie fudge, pumpkin spice malt balls, pumpkin spice caramels, pumpkin spice meringues, and pumpkin pie saltwater taffy. There’s also an ample selection of chocolates, candies, licorice, and gourmet popcorn. 617 Main Street

Pumpkin Treats
Voted the “Best Bakery in Half Moon Bay,” Moonside Bakery and Café is the place to go for delectable housemade pumpkin goodies. A sampling of their “Everything Pumpkin” menu includes sweet loaf, muffins, croissants (pumpkin and cream cheese filled), scones, cheesecake, mousse cake, French macarons, and pumpkin-shaped cookies. There’s even pumpkin pancakes and pumpkin-seeded bagels! Of course, no celebration is complete without their scrumptious pumpkin pie. 604 Main Street

Pumpkin Pie
James Beard award winning Duarte’s Tavern, a family run establishment since 1894, is serving up their signature pumpkin pie. Enjoy American country cooking, spiced by the Portuguese roots of the Duarte family. Not to miss: a bowl of their famous artichoke and green chili soup and a slice of olallieberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 202 Stage Road, Pescadero

Pumpkin Cheese
Now through the holidays, Harley Farms, home to award-winning goat cheese, is offering its seasonal Pumpkin-Spice Fromage Blanc, a deliciously creamy and light cheese with a subtle pumpkin tang. Open daily from 11am – 4pm. Tours can be reserved online. 205 North Street, Pescadero 

Pumpkin Gnocchi
Sam’s Chowder House is cooking up a variety of festive specials this pumpkin season including house-made pumpkin gnocchi with brown butter and sage and delicious pumpkin crème brulee. Open for outdoor dining and takeout. 4210 Cabrillo Hwy N

Pumpkin Beer
Head to Half Moon Bay Brewing Company for its famous Pumpkin Harvest Ale, now available at the restaurant on tap and in 16oz cans. This Pumpkin Harvest Ale is a yearly fall specialty: a full-bodied Amber Ale made with locally grown Sugar Pie pumpkins and roasted with a secret blend of spices added to the brew kettle. The finished result is a subtle Pumpkin pie spice flavor balanced by a biscuity maltiness. Pumpkin soup will also be available throughout the fall season. 390 Capistrano Road

Festive Main Street
Half Moon Bay’s Main Street is a shopper’s dream with blocks of locally owned boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. To celebrate the fall season, Bay Area artist Devlin Espeleta has hand-painted many of the store windows with cozy autumn scenes.

Glass Pumpkins
Create your own glass pumpkins with HMB Art Glass or stop by the mega sale held every weekend in October with hundreds of glass pumpkins available for purchase. Classes start at $130 (use lemon40 to save 40%). Located at La Nebbia Winery, 12341 San Mateo Road

Posh Pumpkins
Mercantile Jupiter & Main is featuring Posh Pumpkins, luxurious velvet pumpkins handcrafted by a local artist with real pumpkin stems harvested from local Half Moon Bay farms. Comforting fall scented candles like clove and pumpkin are also available for purchase.
